Nice place, we liked the separation from other sites. Hilarious story to share. Arrived at our reserved site to find another guy and his wife had just backed in. Still hooked up. Only had awning down. He was friendly and left right away. For whatever reason decides not to retract awning as he moves to next site. My buddy says as is becomes apparent he is going to leave the awning down "this isn't going to go well". He's almost at the next spot and sure enough, clips a tree with the awning. Causally gets out, assesses the situation, backs up, and tries again. Best part - awning is electric - push button retract. The wife looked jacked. Happy camping!

Our camp site was perfect and the guys that came around and hung the names on the sites to reserve for campers, where extremely informative and very friendly! One complaint thou, we was in camp site 19 and our last nite we was there, a couple of cars with very LOUD mufflers were racing up and down the road (hill) where you drive down into to launch the boats. This went on for about an hour and it was around midnite. Didnt want to complain but someone should monitor that hill after dark, as someone thought it was a drag strip for their loud cars.

If you rent a cabin, be sure to bring a table and chairs in addition to your air mattress and bedding. Also note the the water is not potable so bring plenty of water.

East Branch Dam Campground is a beautiful location for camping. It is located about 16 miles from Ridgway, Pennsylvania, which is a very nice small town. Appalachian Arts Studio is located there at the top of Boot Jack. They sponsored the Chainsaw Carvers Rendezvous in April 2022. It was a great success!

There are some really nice restaurants in Kane, Pennsylvania, which is just a short commute from the campground.

Our cabin was locked when we arrived. We were directed to leave a message at all phone sites. It was a saturday. No camp host available. At last minute found a maintenance man leaving work who got us in. Place is severely understaffed.

The campground was difficult to find, we passed it several times and ended up going down the long very sharp curved road to the boat dock, with camper it tow! We scraped bottom of the camper on the last curve getting back out of there. There was no one at the park office and no one would answer the phone. We made one more trip past the park office and saw a car going up a hill between trees, and followed it as a last resort! And found the camp ground. The whole thing could have been corrected if there was and arrow pointing the way, it does not look like an entrance to a campground! It was difficult filling our water tank while sitting up hill. Our site was difficult to back into. We met our host's Peggy and Randy at the water source, thankfully they had a long hose to fill us back up after we lost all our water the first night. We were disappointed we couldn't fish from shore anywhere on the lake as we didn't have a boat. Other than that we liked the campground, the spots are spacious for the most part. Nice shower house with flush toilets. Our host's were very helpful, beautiful area. Also disappointed the road to the top of the dam was closed, to long of a walk for us to enjoy. Also Peggy told us if there is a car at the park office the lady is in there and you have to knock on the door ( she keeps it locked) that also would have been helpful, if there was a sign to knock! It is nice the park has ramps everywhere for handicap access. Nice for peace and quiet, during the week at least.
