This small quite campground has large flat level sites. Some have great views of the intercoastal water way and the sweeping savanna over which you can watch beautiful sunrises. The tent camping area is right on the intercoastal waterway. There is a nice trail that is the end of the mountains to sea trail so it goes a long way. The first 5 miles from the park is very pleasant we didn't go any further.
The restrooms have one shower each with water that is just warm enough. The restrooms were never cleaned the two weeks we were there and were out of toilet paper about half the time. We never saw a camp host or ranger.
The biting insects both mosquitos and biting midges were fierce in the morning and afternoon but you could go out unprotected and only get a couple of bites mid day.

We stayed at Buck Hall for 10 days and while it was a nice and very quiet campground there was a big problem. Unbeknown to us, the camp host had been hospitalized and as a result, the bathrooms received no service whatsoever and in fact ran totally out of toilet paper; campers were having to supply their own. Now I realize the camp host is not at fault here; someone in charge should have sent a fill in to cover the area until the camp host was recovered. The shower stalls need some serious revamping; once you have the water flowing, everything in the stall gets wet. There is no place that remains dry to put one's clean clothes. The sites are spacious and you don't have a close by neighbor; there is shade. We got to see a bald eagle perched across the Canal almost every day and once we saw a dolphin in the Canal.

Campground is in a nice quiet location along the intracoastal waterway. We were in site 14 with a good view of the water. The reason for my low review is that the camp host was gone most of the two weeks that we were there and bathrooms were not kept clean and ran out of toilet paper. Grass also had not been mowed, so we didn't have any camp fires as afraid of catching it on fire.

Campsites and location is fine, good hiking, fishing and boating opportunities. Beautiful location.
We found a lack of maintenance and cleanliness in the bathhouse.

Truly beautiful location overlooking the icw! Convenient access to the palmetto trail too. Ample boat parking. Sites were spread out nicely. This rec area is a gem!

Great park. Great location. Plenty of room between sites. Summers would be fun watching all the boats on the inter coastal waterway.

This is a buitiful quite place next to the Intercoastal Waterway. The bathrooms are in need of updating and were not cleaned or restocked during our 6 day stay. I heard one host did not show and other local host had emergency. Things happen so I hope to plan a return trip and see.

Nice place, nice sites. Boat launch right at the entrance of the campground. Pamello trail runs through. River is right there - dolphins even come up to say hi. Close to Charleston (30 min).
Bathhouse is definitely run down with only one shower per gender. Grass needed to be cut - and I hear it doesn't get cut most of the year. Was there in March and the noseeums were unreal!
