It is difficult to get a site at buck hall and we were told of a woman who voluntarily left a day early, but the host wouldn't let it be used because the woman had paid for a full 2 weeks. I think it should have been made available.

Lovely campground....clean, easy to park, nice views of the water, trail available from park, paved pads, water and power! Would come back!!

Camp hosts were friendly and efficient. Sunrise over the waterway was gorgeous. Enjoyed 2 quick trips into McClellanville, one for just off the boat fresh shrimp and another for lunch at TW Grahams. Hike at least 2 miles out on the Palmetto Trail for a spectacular vista! And there was hot water for the shower.

This place is a diamond in the rough. It is obvious that it is run by the government and not a private company because a private company would invest in needed improvements and expansion. Only 14 RV spots with room to double or triple this number on the same footprint without crowding plus ample acreage to expand this facility. The boat landing parking lot is too small and is full of potholes and the bath house is obsolete . Hopefully a renovation is in the future.

Although there are improvements needed in some areas such as the bath house, overall the campground is wonderful. We stayed from Dec. 5-9 at site #10 mostly level. Great weather. Only had to raise the front one block.
With only 14 sites it is a quiet campground. Spaces are large and relatively private. Straight drive. HW 17 to McClellenville and Georgetown. A must see is the Hampton Rice Plantation, which is a state park. We would return.

Buck Hall is a great place to camp in the winter time. We love the solitude and quiet. We toured Hampton Plantation State Historic Site on our most recent camping trip. It's not far from Buck Hall. We ate at T.W. Graham's in McClellanville and enjoyed the local seafood immensely. Buck Hall is only 78 miles from our home, so it's not far for us to travel for an almost staycation getaway.

Spent Thanksgiving here. Lovely spot on the ICW. Sites spread out and laid out nicely. Great hiking/biking Palmetto Trail access! Will definitely go back.

Nice place. Just make sure you reserve a spot well before you want to go.

The campsite was nice, but the RVs nearby had a full blown party both Friday night and Saturday night. On Friday night they had music playing and a lot of yelling, and profanities being thrown around. They didn't stop until 11PM.
On Saturday, they had a legit concert set up. They had guitars, microphones, etc and we're up well after midnight.
Overall, it was nice, but the spaces are tight together and way too close if there are people wanting to throw a party while I try to get my 4 year old to sleep.
