Our stay at Whetstone was great. The sites are very well maintained, and the bathrooms were clean. Our campground volunteer was helpful and friendly; pointing us to the trails and other activities in the area. The only thing missing is a shower, which would have made our stay perfect. But even without showers we still plan to visit the campground again.

The grass in the campground was cut and weed eated which was nice since sometimes it is not and the grass can get pretty tall. The park rangers checked the sites daily and made sure all campers were good .

I love the wild scenic river and the trails were in great shape. The campsites were clean but they only had 1 restroom unlocked at the 2 available sites. The quiet hours are from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. (generators included) but there are always some that want to run industrial generators all night. The reason you go primitive camping is NOT to hear loud motors running.
