There were still some trees down, but most could be crossed over or bypassed. The camp host was friendly and helpful.

This is my fourth or fifth time camping at Whetstone - I like the roominess, especially for my horse. This time, however, there were so many generators running, some late into the evening and a few overnight. Not sure why it seemed different - it wasn't very cold, but this was the noisiest visit so far. Unfortunately, some folks didn't follow the quiet time restrictions. I'll return, but might take the most remote campsite next time.

Whetstone was a very nice primitive or dry horse camp. We will definitely be going back! I would have given 5 stars but there were no trail maps available and the campers left our site without cleaning up after their horses. Be sure to take a manure fork and wheelbarrow to clean your site up. Also beware of the stand pipes they are needing maintenance and will drowned you if your not careful!
