About Roubaix Lake

Roubaix Campground is tucked into a grove of Ponderosa pines along its namesake lake. With a popular swim beach and opportunities for non motorized boating and paddling, campsites are dispersed among four loops, and many offer lake views. At an elevation of 5,500 feet, this camp remains comfortable on hot summer days, and sites are spaced far enough apart to offer ample privacy. This popular camp makes a great base for exploring all the activities and attractions at the lake and in the surrounding area.

Roubaix Lake offers a beautiful and peaceful camping experience with clean facilities, friendly hosts, and spacious sites amidst lovely trees and trails. Many visitors appreciate the tranquility and scenic views, particularly enjoying the nearby lake and wildlife. This is a nice campground overall. The camping spaces are fairly spread out, and there's a very nice meadow with a stream in it next to the campground. The area is very, very popular, though, and there were many people there during our stay. That made for a lot of noise and traffic.

Nice quiet scenic CG. Plenty of space between sites. Small lake with beach. Good spot for UTVs, 2 forest roads leave CG. Tons of stuff to do in black hills. Skip deadwood unless you just love tourist traps and paying 10 dollar parking to do it.

We were in D loop. Campsites far apart and quiet. Great little lake for fishing and swimming. But also very popular so it got pretty busy during the day. We were tent camping and campsite was cooler than all the surrounding areas so even in the heat wave it was very pleasant camping weather. Campground host did a great job.
Almost no cell phone access, but that was a plus because it lets you truly get away.

Policies & Rules

Cancellation policy

  • Reservation fees are non-refundable. For campsites, cabins, lookouts, yurts, group sites, and similar stays, we charge a reservation service fee of $8.
  • Standard cancellations usually have a $10 cancellation fee. Customers can generally cancel before the check-in date online.
  • Late cancellation rules differ by stay type.
    • Individual campsites: cancelling after 12:00am local time the day before arrival usually means a $10 cancellation fee plus forfeiting the first night's fee.
    • Cabins, lookouts, and yurts: cancelling less than 14 days before arrival usually means a $10 cancellation fee plus forfeiting the first night's fee.
    • One-night reservations: a late cancellation usually forfeits the full amount paid, up to the total original reservation cost.
  • Modifications are allowed before the cut-off window, but fees depend on the change. Changing to dates completely outside the original reservation dates may trigger a $10 change fee. Extending or shortening a stay that still includes original dates usually has no change fee, though refunds may depend on timing and facility rules. Switching to the same type of campsite for the same dates usually has no change fee, but price differences are charged or refunded.
  • Early departures may or may not be refunded. At certain facilities, partial refunds may be possible if staff can mark the site available for other visitors. No refund is given for a night if the early departure is requested after that day's check-out time.
  • Security deposits are separate. Security deposits may be refunded to the original payment method if the facility is left in acceptable condition, as determined by the property.
