Nice spot NO monster campers blocking out the sun. generators are managed so your not listing to them all night. next to a NO WAKE lake, so no moter boats screaming back and forth. Nice place.

Nice, quiet campground with access to scenic Deerfield lake trails and picnic area. The host was super friendly, checking us in, accommodating us with a USFS day use area pass and having good firewood for sale on site.

We had a great trip to this campground. Easy access to water and clean pit toilets made being off the grid simple. Spots are spaced apart and the lake is amazing for floating and fishing.

Loved this campground! It was literally in the middle of the forest (so nowhere) so there is no cell phone/GPS signal at all. No bugs to speak of until it started to heat up during the day, but by then we were at the end of our stay so it was no bother. There is no light pollution, so you can see the night sky very well. We came from Devil's Tower, so the road in was all state highways, and we had about 20 miles of unpaved bumpy road to get through before we hit the main road for the campground. Very close to Hill City, which is a decent-sized town and has a lot of amenities. Didn't take long to get to Mt Rushmore or any of the other surrounding national sites to visit.
