Excellent location and excellent, very friendly staff. Enough off the highway to keep noise down. Easy walk down to the lake. It was a little eerie that no one was there in early August. No RV hook-ups, but easy access to town of Hot Springs for supplies.

Nice quiet campground. Please don't cut down any more trees... we like the trees! Electric hookups would be a plus. Still enjoy boondicking here though.

We liked that it was a small campground, 'tucked away in the woods,' so-to-speak. The bathroom facilities & trash facilities were decent. And it was fun having the dam & lake with a shaded picnic area & walking path just a little ways from the campground so we had a nice, scenic place to take our dogs for a walk every day. Had to drive there, but at least it wasn't too far from the campground. (Too bad there weren't camping spots in That particular area.) But we had a very difficult time Trying to navigate our 5th wheel camper and truck into our camping spot, with the other camping spots/campers close to ours. At least ours & (some of the) parking spots were at challenging angles. It took several tries to be able to finally get our camper & truck totally off the street & into our spot.

Peaceful, Safe, and Scenic Spot
A beautiful, quiet, and safe campground. There’s a flushing restroom with a tap nearby—good for general use, though not suitable for RV water fill-up or showers. Rangers and local police regularly patrol the area, which adds a sense of security. Behind the campground is a lovely lake, and birdwatchers will enjoy the many birds that frequent the area. A great place to relax and enjoy nature.

Life Jackets Worn…Nobody Mourns, Wear your Life Jacket! The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) asks you to please play it safe while on, in, or near the water. USACE public recreation fatality statistics show that 88 percent were male, 89 percent were not wearing a life jacket, and 47 percent were swimming in areas not designated as a swimming area. Most people that drown would have survived if they had worn a life jacket. Life jackets come in many styles, sizes, and colors. Choose the right one that fits you properly and make sure to wear it correctly. There is a life jacket for every kind of water activity including swimming.
