Rushmore Shadows Resort

Spent almost 2 months in the RV park until closing day. Haven't stopped talking about it since. Huge spaces, wonderful dog parks and close to everything the Black Hills has to offer.

Everyone is so nice and helpful. This place is clean. Location is great and not far from all the tourist thing to do. It is gated when store closes which is very nice also.

Quiet park near Mt Rushmore Crazy Horse and Custer State Park. The staff were friendly. Nice bathhouse and laundry facilities. Pool was dated but clean. Nice grass at each sight. Well maintained very nice fire pits at each site too

I gave this resort a 1 star because as paying members I think they dont offer enough sites, its always hard to get booked what dates we need for our vacation times. The pool is tiny and way outdated. The hot tub is not open or down for repairs 70% of the times that we have been there. I see no expansions happening and no updates happening. Heck I dont even see maintenance happening. Everytime I have been at the pool there is never anyone there monitoring it so the rules posted are constantly being ignored. Kids come and go WITHOUT adult supervision. They offer no way to get out of your contract and claim they are NOT a timeshare but they definitely are. It is very costly, I cant help but wonder where all the membership money and maintenance fees go to.

We got our membership with several other families. We were told we could call and reserve a group of 3 spots together if we were all to purchase a membership. They honored this for years and all of a sudden they can't seem to make it work. They offer 3 spots in three different locations on the campground. They have gone from excellent customer service to a "just deal with it" approach to members. It looks like they are trying to cater to those renting spots for the whole summer rather than their loyal members. So disappointed with the new set up....
