The camp hosts were friendly and helpful; the campground is very nice and was well maintained. There is no kind of ground-cover separation between campsites (and I felt a bit like I was intruding on other campers to get to and from the bathroom/shower building). Lots of little flies at the time of year I was there (early/mid-September, and hot); they weren't biting, but they were definitely annoying. This campground is on the north side of the river and based on Google Maps I thought it was in South Dakota, so some of my web searches were confusing me — apparently the campground is technically in Nebraska.

This is a really nice campground. Most of the sites are not too crowded and the best sites are along the shore of Yankton Lake. Washhouses are very clean and easy to get to. We have enjoyed the greeter who is very personable. Most all of the sites are flat and the area around it is well kept up. Being below the dam, it is very quiet and peaceful.

We enjoy this park but when it is windy like this time, there is always branches falling from the old Cottonwood trees. This stay, 3 branches came down on 3 separate occasions, one huge one barely missing a tent. Maintenance would be appreciated.

Campers need to respect that people sleep in on weekends/camping. The neighbors we had started yelling at each other at 0600 packing to leave right outside my bedroom window. My window wasn't open either.
