Cottonwood is part of a busy recreation area along the Missouri River. In spite of the density, the overall experience is very good due to the management of the several campgrounds right next to each other, and the beautiful setting. If you are looking for isolation, it is not here, but the clearly marked campgrounds and cleanliness of the area provide lovely access to the River.

Very well kept bathroom and shower house. Love this place for the price and convenience of being so close to the water. Again my wife and I enjoy camping here as much as we can get out. Nice camp ground!

Campground was good as usual. Lake Yankton water levels were low, Gavins Point dam was not releasing water, but we still found plenty to enjoy.
