We miss having a camp ground host. People have questions and used to going to a campground host and there isn't one.
The fire pits are not cleaned before we get there nor they are not cleaned while we're there.
The bathroom showers have dried dirt and sand and the floor has to be washed down before a person can take a shower and this is after its been cleaned.
Rumor is that there will not be a person in the booth and it'll only be a volunteered position. There are no tickets At the sites to tell if the site has someone coming in and when they are leaving. The person in the booth is not allowed to help people to make reservations especially those who do not use or have computers. Also people who don't speak real good English need help in making the reservations
Full time RVers sometimes will just stop to get a spot and are unable to get online and cannot get thru on the phone.

There was cig. Butts around the fire pit. There were burnt wood and ashes in the firepit when we arrived. The firepit was never cleaned out while we were there.
The bathrooms had dead bugs on the floor. The showers had hair all over the floors.

We had a great time meeting new campers and old friends from the past. The campground was in excellent shape and the bathhouses were nice and clean. Miss having the campground host around to ask questions. We plan on going again next week. Thanks😎

We found it to be a very nice, clean ,quiet campground. The sites are a nice size and ours was very easy to get into. Met very many very nice people to visit with as we walked, from all over the US. Will definitely go back.

Cottonwood Campground in Yankton, SD is by far my favorite campground to take my family. The camper pads are well maintained, and the rocked patio areas are excellent especially with little kids no tracking dirt and mud into the camper all weekend. The shower houses/bathrooms were clean and very accomodating. The campground hosts at Cottonwood are some of the best you will ever experience. They are always upbeat and very welcoming. Being right on Lake Yankton is also a major bonus as our family loves to fish and this lake is so fun. Right off the campground bank my three girls kept me busy taking off fish and re-bating their lines. Whenever camping at Cottonwood we also love using the public beach/swimming area that is a very short drive from the campground. Bike riding around and from this campground is also a major love or our families. The drives in the campground are smooth and the bike trails right at the entrance to the park can keep you riding for an entire day. All and all, this campground has it all.
