What Guests Are Saying
Lock A campground is well-maintained and offers beautiful river views, spacious sites, and friendly hosts, making it an enjoyable place for camping. Visitors appreciated the cleanliness of the facilities, good connectivity, and access to water activities like kayaking. While the narrow and steep road to the campground and some dated bathroom facilities were mentioned as drawbacks, overall experiences were positive, with many guests eager to return.

The camp site is clean, has a beautiful view and is close to the river. Unfortunately the proximity of the neighboring campsite made for a less than relaxing environment. There was less than 10 feet between our tent which was on the pad provided and the tents on one neighboring site. Allowing up to two tents and eight campers on such a small campsite might not be a good thing. We will definitely return for day use at the Cheatham recreation area. Just not to camp.

Have enjoyed Lock A for 30+ years but the showers are terribly dirty and in need of replacement.

First visit to Lock A. Park is very nice. We plan on returning. Only negative is the bathhouse needs a really good cleaning. River views of the Cumberland were excellent.

We loved the campsite! Beautiful view of the river and plenty of paved area for parking. I really enjoyed the grassy area between the driveway and river.

Well, first of all the weather was beautiful. Great views all around, especially watching the barges up and down the Cumberland. The campground was pristine. And the beach is nearby. Multiple playgrounds for the grandkids. Water and electric service. Worked great for our camper. Highly recommend Cheatham Dam. And our camp post. Cheryl was very helpful.
