What Guests Are Saying
Chilhowee Campground is praised for its beautiful natural setting, well-maintained facilities, and friendly camp hosts, making it a favorite for repeat visitors. The campground features clean bathrooms, spacious sites, and a lovely lake for swimming, along with access to hiking trails, including the popular Benton Falls. While the access road is narrow and winding, and some areas may appear dated, the overall experience is highly recommended for those seeking a peaceful camping getaway.

Very nice camp ground. The sites are not to close together and well treed. Bathroom could use some updating but works well, has good hot water and plenty of pressure. Scenery is amazing and the group areas are fantastic.

This park and campground get used heavily by a lot of people. Campgrounds are ok, but then day use areas can get hit really hard by locals who come up the mountain to enjoy the park on the weekends. The good thing is that this park and campground gets used a lot, The bad thing is that the state is not spending enough money on the park to keep up with the usage. Things are a little rough around the edges.

The camp host was great and tried to help us by moving us to a different site. when we got there on Thursday there was no electricity . Went to see camp host and he offered to move us but it was already dark. the next morning the camp host came by at 8am and said he reported to the ranger in charge and to give it a little time and it would be fixed or we would be moved to different site. At noon when I told the camp host I was moving he was able to get permission to open fuse box and turn the power on. I enjoy Chilhowie campground but due to the rangers not caring whether we had electricticy or not is the reason for 3 stars. one ranger was there at about 9am put did not even try to fix it
