What Guests Are Saying
Chilhowee Campground is praised for its beautiful natural setting, well-maintained facilities, and friendly camp hosts, making it a favorite for repeat visitors. The campground features clean bathrooms, spacious sites, and a lovely lake for swimming, along with access to hiking trails, including the popular Benton Falls. While the access road is narrow and winding, and some areas may appear dated, the overall experience is highly recommended for those seeking a peaceful camping getaway.

Bathrooms were substandard. Two visits to the bathroom on one particular evening and saw several mice. Since Covid, I would think the bathroooms would be cleaned more often.
Park had quite a bit of trash around. We picked up anything we saw on the trails.
We had a good visit, but the park facilities. need to be updated.

A very quite and peaceful campground. Sites are not very private in loops A & B, ours had poison ivy all around it. The most beautiful sites in the other loops with more private sites do not have 30or 50 amps hookups, they are for tent campers. I would good back again.

The campsite B19 was fantastic! There was lots of space between campsites. The pond had a lot of beach space for how small of was. The trails were very nice and we'll maintained. My son is only 3 and made it to Benton Falls and back with only a little complaining. We really loved the views driving up to the campsite! Pictures hardly do them justice. There were only two things that were a little inconvenient. First, there is only one toilet and shower on the b loop bathroom. Even thought they are separated inside, someone had the entire bathroom locked while showering. Second, if you forget something it is quite a haul to the store and back. It's about an hour turn around to get the the store get what you need and get back. However, even with these minor inconveniences I will definitely be going back!

Lovely campground with lots of trees. I think most campsites were in the shade.

As always the hosts were very helpful, but if we reported any rules violations the National Forest Rangers just ignored them and left warnings only. It seemed a waste of time when signs and rules were ignored!

This is our absolute favorite place to camp! The most beautiful scenery, the kindest camp host, and just a wonderful place to get away to. Our favorite activity is to ride our tandem bicycle from camp (site 50 is my fave) down to Hwy 64 and back. We stop at the overlooks along the way and meet the nicest people. My husband grew up paddling the Ocoee, and this is our number one pick for camping. We came in our tent with our children, and now we come in our RV as empty nesters!! We will always be back!!
