About Defeated Creek Park

Defeated Creek Park Campground sits along the banks of Cordell Hull Lake on the Cumberland River System, just seven miles from Carthage, Tennessee. The lake was named after Cordell Hull, a politician that was born in the foothills of the Cumberland Mountains. The on-site staff was very friendly and helpful. This campground is a great place to stay. If you want to get away from the huge campground overcrowded with campers, this is the place for you and your kids. Nice pond to fish in, a peaceful creek, and stars that appear to be on top of you.
Clean restrooms with a great shower house. This is definitely a place worth visiting. I'll be back!

We try to visit Defeated Creek every year, and this year’s visit was another great experience. We had a wide range of weather from rainy to very dry and hot. Our campsite was mostly shaded, and we had a gentle breeze off the lake. The park is generally well kept. We loved our stay, and will be back.

Absolutely beautiful campground. We had tried for a couple of years for this campsite and finally got lucky. The only issue was the beautiful grassy area…everyone else wanted to also enjoy it so we constantly had visitors biking and walking beside and behind our camper.

It was a wonderful campground sites were will managed and not on top of each other! Deer everywhere and plenty to do! Nice place to ride bikes and just have a wonderful time!

Really liked our site. Didn't realize we would have concerns about the water quality. I believe that should have been posted on their site, so people could make informed decisions before arrival.
