About Defeated Creek Park

Defeated Creek Park Campground sits along the banks of Cordell Hull Lake on the Cumberland River System, just seven miles from Carthage, Tennessee. The lake was named after Cordell Hull, a politician that was born in the foothills of the Cumberland Mountains. Really liked our site. Didn't realize we would have concerns about the water quality. I believe that should have been posted on their site, so people could make informed decisions before arrival.

This is a fantastic park. We were in site 98 and there was a tree that made me nervous. A storm came through and the tree split in half, fortunately for us, it fell away from our RV. We were able to move to another site the next day as the remainder of the tree was not safe. Otherwise, love this campground.
