About Defeated Creek Park

Defeated Creek Park Campground sits along the banks of Cordell Hull Lake on the Cumberland River System, just seven miles from Carthage, Tennessee. The lake was named after Cordell Hull, a politician that was born in the foothills of the Cumberland Mountains. Beautiful park! Great for riding bikes with nice views of the water and gorgeous sunsets. The bathrooms need some upgrades but they are clean. Cell service is spotty. We always enjoy camping here.

Beautiful campground, well maintained with security gate entrance. We stayed at site 100 on the lake. We had zero WiFi or phone (Verizon) service the whole time. Just something to know and be aware of. Also, they don’t sell firewood there so grab it at the store before coming. There was a little market right outside the entrance where you can grab some but they have limited hours and are closed on Sunday. Had a great time!
