About Defeated Creek Park

Defeated Creek Park Campground sits along the banks of Cordell Hull Lake on the Cumberland River System, just seven miles from Carthage, Tennessee. The lake was named after Cordell Hull, a politician that was born in the foothills of the Cumberland Mountains. Defeated is our favorite place to camp! When we camp at other parks we are always comparing them to Defeated and how Defeated is so much better!

Love this campground! Clean shower/restrooms and nice green spaces between camp spots. Only thing the park may consider is upgrading the WiFi as cell connectivity is minimal. Possibly putting WiFi on all the shower houses would help!

DOGS People need to take care of them, barking, crapping and leaving it behind. I hate having to watch where I walk to make sure I don't step in it!!! Kids walking their parents dogs and letting them urinate on other campers deceration's I personally watched this happen! This isn't the first time I have complained about DOGS and it don't get any better! I known people love their pets but if they can't take care of them they need to leave them HOME!

A great place to camp!! We were in site #71 which is one of the best sites in the campground. A very safe place also as the sheriff department comes through the campground. Great place great folks!!

Wish all campsites were like site 80 on the lake loop! Good view of the lake. Lots of room. Would be nice if the campground had WiFi that could support the number of devices since cell service is almost non existent.

The camp hosts were very nice, the sites were clean, the scenery was beautiful. We had no problems and enjoyed the 7 days we were there. We highly recommend this campground for anyone looking for a beautiful resting spot to get away from it all.
