About Defeated Creek Park

Defeated Creek Park Campground sits along the banks of Cordell Hull Lake on the Cumberland River System, just seven miles from Carthage, Tennessee. The lake was named after Cordell Hull, a politician that was born in the foothills of the Cumberland Mountains. Great area spacious camp sites. Clean well kept. Enjoyed seeing the deer ect.Would like better wifi, more 50 amp electric sites and more septic hook up.Great place great enviroment.Already scheduled another trip

Get the mountain bike trail cleared so people can use it. We try to come in Spring before the weeds take over. I would like to come more often to ride more. Thank you for keeping the grass mowed frequently this year. This hasn’t been so in the past.

Some sites are showing signs of wear and tear. Picnic tables are in disrepair. Sites need to be graded and re-leveled. The Corp has become very lax enforcing their own rules. Pets are off leash and not picked up after. Non registered vehicles are on the roads. Never saw a ranger.

This is our favorite place to camp! The grounds and campsites are so well maintained and the bathhouses are always clean. My only critique is the VERY limited Wi-Fi access. Everything is wonderful…especially the beautiful sunsets reflecting on the lake!
