About Defeated Creek Park

Defeated Creek Park Campground sits along the banks of Cordell Hull Lake on the Cumberland River System, just seven miles from Carthage, Tennessee. The lake was named after Cordell Hull, a politician that was born in the foothills of the Cumberland Mountains. This place is great! The campsites are large level sites with lots of grass and wonderful views of the lake. We use our National Park senior pass and we are able to stay on a full hook up site for $18.00 per night. You do need to reserve your stay as soon as the date that you want to stay opens up.

This is a very nice site with a great water view. However this site adjoins Site No. 51 and is best suited for families or friends all camping together. It is well shaded and has a great water view. For those who like to put lights out for decorations though the only grassy area is behind your camper and lthere are a lot of roots.

The bathrooms need to be updated to ADA regulations. The toilet in the handicap stall is below the height regulation for a handicap stall.
Not sure there are any sites designated for ADA campers. Only 3 or 4 sites are concrete and none of those sites have sewer hookup. For this park to be completely booked during the season, there is no reason the government should not provide the necessary upgrades.
