This is one of our favorite campgrounds. The cg host is great. One thing could make it better - hiking trails. The only real place to walk is the road through the cg. But there are a couple of problems: for some reason at this particular cg people drive around and around for no apparent purpose other than to drive through the cg (this would be fine except that they go round and round and round and you are constantly trying to find a place to get out of their way). The other problem which is not only a problem here but other cg s too. Big vicious dog breeds - Rottweilers, put bulls, etc that are not always on a leash. The owners believe they are so well trained that they let them loose at their site. They are threatening and could be dangerous. Some camp sites have as many as three of these dogs on one site!

This is a well kept campground spacious sites. It’s next to being “off grid” without being off grid. don’t expect to have phone and internet service as it’s really backwoods. It has a nice beach area for swimming too. There are a lot of mature trees so many sites have shade which also block satellite service should you have Dish or Directv. with portable dishes you can often get a signal.
We have been coming to this campground for a number of years and it’s always been neat and clean when we arrived.

We very much enjoy our stay at Salt Lick every year. The only thing we were upset to see was that the 2 sites that were closer the water that we would have loved to have and were marked as reserved were never used the whole weekend. Come to find out on our check out there was a glitch on the web site. I really hope they are able to get it taken care of in the furture. Other than than that, the facilities are always clean and well stocked and the grounds are very well cared for. Most campers are courteous of their fellow campers. Overall, Highly recomend!
