Abram's Creek Campground

I have lived just over the mountain from Abrams Creek Campground my whole life. I camped there as a kid. 2 weekends ago I took my wife and 2 kids. There was drinking which is not allowed in the park and the group of college guys camping right next to us were saying f**k, over and over again. I had booked two nights at campsite 2, and had to pack up and leave the first night. I didn't even try to get reimbursed because of what a hassle it would likely have been. This place is so beautiful, but has gone down hill as far as being monitored by the park service. I would not recommend to anyone.

I've been having problems with individuals that use a "Dream Device" to broadcast 3D art movies into my brain while I'm sleeping. This group attacked my sleep over 5 times in two nights at this campground. It appears that this campground has those annoying "Bozo Lights" near the restroom. The "Lights" might be the source of the broadcast, HOWEVER, this is cutting edge harassment technology THEREFORE some "spooks" from the NSA might want to investigate these crimes.

Also, toilets filthy, water tastes funky, bailed out early...

I would NOT recommend our campsite. The light from the bathroom was shinning in our tent all night, and there is very little privacy as it was very close to the path to the bathrooms. You also will not have creek access (unless you want to walk though someone else's campsite).

Having said that, the campground itself is well-taken care of, and if you can snag a creekside campsite you will have a much better experience.

Beautiful ,small, campground along the river. Road is in rough shape getting to the campground.

A very special place and the campsites are very quiet, level and clean. My only issue was the noise coming from the trailhead parking lot up the road. I gather some hikers come in the night before and nap in the parking lot so they can get an early start on the 12 mile hike early in the morning. Of course, I was there at the start of Memorial Day weekend, so peace and quiet are hard to come by anywhere. The hike to the falls is beautiful!

Gorgeous campground. Be aware that the last mile on Abrams Creek Rd is a very narrow. We were towing a small trailer and came across a large pickup hauling a boat, and it took us almost 30 minutes to be able to go through. Any way, it was worth it.

I'm not sure how anyone knows that campsites are reserved, but we did not have an issue. Beautiful location, clean restrooms. I was surprised to see the ranger drive through and not address the fires left unattended and the messy, bear attracting campsites. Being from Colorado, we are sensitive to both. Road is a bit rough and one lane.

Don’t waste your money reserving a space; it’ll be occupied once you get there. No rangers on site. Terrible road getting to the campground—no where to pull off to let oncoming traffic through. Be sure to have recovery gear with you and a buddy to help winch you out if you do get pushed off the road, because you won’t have cell reception to call for a tow.

Bring a snorkel great places to see endemic aquatic species!

Love this campground. Clean bathrooms, creek access right off of campsite, water spout for dishes or drinking, access to hiking trails at the back of the campground, most of the campsites are spacious. They’re a little close, but everyone was awesome and the kids made lots of friends the whole weekend. Cant wait to come back!
