Great location, close to I-75, but not the noise. Friendly and helpful staff. Clean campground. It was an overnight stay and It was hot so we didn’t check out the trails.

Love this place for a visit near family. Always would prefer lakeside sites, but it’s not always possible. Bathhouses are not conveniently located relative to the sites, but they’re not terribly far. A trip in the middle of the night could be daunting. Be wary of the raccoons after dark, they’re troublemakers.

Very well maintained, very friendly staff, and overall great camping experience.
It is in the woods so have your bug spray ready.

I wish it was easier to launch boats at the camp ground. The ramp has no dock so that you can tie off boat so you can go park your truck and trailer. No one with a handicap could get on a boat at this location like other campgrounds. Thanks

We were on site 45. My husband and I have mobility issues, but we found we were able to walk around the road without much difficulty - it was not always uphill both ways. We were very fortunate to have one of the few sites that did not have a huge upward drive-in area. It was a pull through spot, with a decent view of the lake from up higher. I highly recommend this campsite. Very nice concrete pad, a nice picnic table, grill, and also a separate wooden table we were able to place our grill upon. The road that leads into the campground from city limits goes through a very nice residential area, which was odd. For a moment we thought we were surely lost because of that. The roads are a bit narrow, but well paved.
Nearby is a Wal-Mart and several stores. Traffic through LaVergne was heavy at times. There are a few places to eat further down the road. One thing I enjoyed was that Amazon has a locker at a gas station nearby, so I was able to order some desperately needed things, as we stayed there for 8 days. Never knew these lockers existed. If I were to go back again, I would want the site we stayed at. Like I said, few others were as nice and we do not appreciate steep climbs into a campsite, even if a pull through. Note some of the pull throughs near the lake held 2 campers, back to back - never seen that before either. I guess the first one there gets to drive straight in, and maybe you have to back out when the other camper shows up.
They did patrol the park quite a bit. Men were running around in those vehicles to each site after someone left, but they did not clean the grounds - only seemed to look around and drive on. It was necessary that we use our blower to get many sticks off of the concrete so that we could even use it. Would be nice if their volunteers working would have taken just a bit more time at each site to keep it cleaner for guests. Those men also moved pretty fast in those vehicles. Great recreation lake - beautiful!

Loved this unexpected park. Most sites were drive through. Bathroom is an uphill walk from the RV sites.
