Large sites situated in a quiet, treed location. Bathhouse is clean and we'll maintained. Nice location to visit points of interest and trail heads.

The area is beautiful and the campground is well kept along with the bathhouse. The overlook trails and the Blue Heron Mining Museum are a must, they are just down from the campground. Also, a nice little drive to Stearns, KY (train depo) and south to Oneida, TN to Leatherwood. Nice area along the river and walking trails.

Loved the campground. We hiked several trails and also visited the Blue Heron Mining Company.

Previous campers had left of mess of dog food and cherios scattered on the ground. Due to the bear warnings, I cleaned it up and other garbage they left as best as possible. The camp sight was so close and open to the next sight that I could hear casual conversations. The camp sight was across from the dump station and we could always smell it, not pleasant! We were in sight #8.

Black bears and other wildlife frequent this campground. Please keep in mind that “food” to a bear includes any item with a scent, regardless of packaging. This may consist of items that you do not consider food, such as canned goods, horse feed, bottles, drinks, soaps, cosmetics, toiletries, trash, ice chests (even when empty), and unwashed items used for preparing or eating meals. All these items must be stored properly.
Following these guidelines will keep you from getting your property confiscated from your campsite.
