What Guests Are Saying
Blue Heron Campground is well-maintained, peaceful, and offers clean facilities, making it a favorite for many visitors. The proximity to hiking trails, especially the Blue Heron Loop, adds to its appeal. While some campers noted noise from nearby children and the absence of a campground host, the overall atmosphere is friendly and the campground provides a great outdoor experience.

Pretty park, well maintained. Liked seeing the rangers doing drive thrus since there was no host.
I think it would be helpful if there was more information about how to use the water hook up. I had to ask my neighbor and then had to pass the information to two other campers when they came in.

I don't think we've ever had a more pleasant campground experience. We were tent-camping and the setup was easy breezy. The shower/bathroom was very clean and I appreciated the kichen sink area to wash our dishes in. I also am really happy that they offered recyling next to the garbage receptacles. The staff that i interacted with couldn't have been more friendly and helpful. Thanks for making us feel comfortable!

Generally a very quiet and clean campground. Well maintained facility. Both days of our stay were disturbed (even before 7 a.m. on Friday) by a work crew sealing cracks and preparing to re-pave (not the crew's fault, that is their job). Our whole purpose was to enjoy some peace and quiet in the outdoors. I was going to request a refund through recreation.gov but the system would not offer it to me (I followed all the instructions and even went through the help files). Very disappointed in recreation.gov and I will be very hesitant to use it in the future.

Park Ranger was very nice, helpful and knowledgeable. Park was clean but our water spigot kept shutting off. It didn’t seem to be working right.

We really enjoyed the campsite and the surrounding area (the mine, the river, etc).
Only small complaint was that the campsites were very close together. Overall beautiful place and I will be back again

There wasn’t a camp host there and we needed to switch spots because my truck and camper was to big so I ended up having to pay for two sites and only using one🙄. Love being out doors with the family making memories! The grass needs cut we have been there 3 time this summer and not once has the grass been cut. It’s a ok place but needs a host on the weekends for campers like me that had a problem, and grass cut to kinda keep the ticks away. Restrooms the kids had sand all in there and showers.
