The campground was very clean and quiet. The bathhouse is pretty central to all camping spots. We loved spending time by the river & in the old mining community. Lots of history and fun things to explore and learn!!

The WiFi wasn't working, not sure why. It had on previous visits. It is a quite place to camp.

Lucky to get a site during the summer but disappointed that the site was next to a swampy area with many mosquitos. Definitely the direst bathrooms and showers I have ever seen in a public bathroom. We were there for two nights and the bathrooms and showers were not cleaned. Peeling paint was the showers were in the drains as was other debris. Mud was in the sinks and shower areas most likely from children who were riding their bikes during the rain storms that came through. No campground host that we could see so no one making sure that noise restrictions were enforced.

Great campground. Close to Blue Heron mining community and interpretive center. Also near the Big South Fork Scenic Railway.

Small but very clean and well kept camp ground. Our sight was a little small for our 30ft travel trailer, there wasn’t enough room for the camper and vehicle but we just parked in the grass.

Great campground. Quiet, relaxing and nice sites. Grass is a bit tall so keep deet spray on to avoid chiggers (yep, whole family got them).

This is a very nice campground, with nice spacing between sites, mostly quiet at night. The restrooms were clean and nice. Not sure who thinks that sharp pointy gravel makes for a good tent pad, though. Those are so packed that putting tent pegs in was really tough.
Signage on the road to the historic Blue Heron Tipple could be better. Roads to overlooks were poorly or not at all marked, so make sure you have a good map. Seems like the scenic passenger train no longer goes here as well, so some information needs updating. The Blue Heron site is well worth the visit, just be sure to take water and maybe a picnic lunch as at least at our visit (June 2021) the concessions were closed. Some nice hikes accessible from this campground, nice and uncrowded.

I camped with a teardrop camper at #14. I spend most of my time out of the camper. I could hear the AC running from a nearby site, but it wasn’t annoying. I greatly enjoyed the creek and the creekside trail! Clean restrooms/showers. The creek water swimming pool looked cool, and I watched other folks enjoy it. The entire CG was quite clean and litter-free. Definitely go see the Blue Heron Mining Community just down the road! Also the two lookouts on the way. There’s river access at the end of the BHMC parking area and another Very Steep path and parking on the side of the road to BHMC. I will definitely be back when I’m in the area again!
