Dennis Cove is a magical place. Deep in the woods up a very narrow twisty turny mountain road. No cell or internet was such a needed break from life. Dale, the campground host, is such an awesome and unique person. He took great care of the campground and bathrooms. I highly recommend this campground if you are looking for a quiet getaway where you can't be reached. I'd still be there but the limit is 14 days.

The quiet forest and Laurel Fork Creek are highlights. The restrooms and the grounds are completely clean and well cared for. The camp host is Dale, and he is wonderful. Dale is friendly, helpful, courteous, and hard-working. There are various hiking trails and falls nearby, and it is less than 30 minutes from a town for supplies.

We had a great experience on the evening of September 25, 2021. We wish we could have stayed longer. The camp host is Dale, and he is very accommodating. The restrooms and the grounds are clean. There are activities for anyone who loves camping, fishing, hiking, wading, or just reading in your hammock.
It is quiet and safe, with a gate that is locked from 10 p.m.-7 a.m. Highly recommend, but wish it was a secret.

The campground host was great and helpful about finding hiking trails. One bathroom with flush toilet but usually no wait and it was cleaner and better maintained than most campground bathrooms for the price. Unfortunately, site 5 was close to the road, so I recommend site 6 or 7 if you want to have the creek to lull you to sleep. Nearby Black Bear Resort with firewood and refreshments. Roan mountain State Park/Pisgah trails a must see for beautiful vista views.

Such a beautiful campsite. Well maintained, quite, with a pretty stream to play in. Make sure to follow the Laurel Fork trail along the stream, navigate the crossings, and find the waterfalls. Absolutely a gem!
