What Guests Are Saying
Rock Creek Campground is a lovely and clean site, offering beautiful views of the river and great access to hiking trails. Visitors appreciate the peaceful atmosphere, lack of cell service, and well-maintained facilities, including clean bathrooms and bear-proof food storage. While some experienced issues with campsite reservations and noted limited parking, the overall experience is highly recommended for those seeking a quiet, nature-filled getaway.

The campground is a very quiet and quaint get away spot. It is perfectly located along the Emory River/ Obed River near the Nemo Bridge to enjoy fishing or hiking all day. It is a great place to get away from the city and disconnect. There are several miles of hiking trails directly from the campground area, and with only 11 primitive campsites it made for a very relaxing weekend cooking meals over the open fire with fellow neighboring campers and hikers. A note to Add: there is no cell service at the campground so plan accordingly.
I highly recommend this spot to all people who prefer primitive camping in a secluded area.

Pros: Beautiful and well maintained campground with excellent access to the river. Easy trail access leading into Catoosa Wildlife Management Area.
Cons: Close enough to the road that road noise from motorcycle traffic was an issue throughout the night.

Had an amazing weekend stay. Campsites are very well maintained. Access to the river from camp is very scenic as well. Would highly recommend!

It was amazing. My favorite campsite in Tennessee! Its peaceful, a creek nearby with the beautiful sound of flowing water. Trees for hammocks, a water hole walking distance, bathrooms spacious but slightly smelly if candles arent presently lit(which I'd recommend campers bring for a light as well as smell masker). Absolutely love this campsite.

Very good campground. It is smaller than some but has lots to do near by. Hiking, kayaking and fishing are what usually brings people to this campground.

We had an absolutely lovely time at Rock Creek. This was my second time camping here this season. I was worried about camping without cell service with a couple of other young women, but the atmosphere was really welcoming and the volunteer rangers and abundance of other families made us feel safe. My favorite part was waking up and falling asleep to the sound of the river, as well as laying out on the river rocks looking for shooting stars. One of my most cherished memories of the summer for sure!

{"text"=>"Conveniently close to the city and peaceful during the day with the sound of the river flowing nearby. However, the nights were far too noisy. Trains passed by every 30 minutes (!!!), waking me up each time, and the site is also near roads with loud cars even during the night. Around 5 or 6am, some campers started their car engines and let them run forever😑, which made sleep nearly impossible.\n\nTo make things worse, there’s no way to wash hands or clean cooking gear, which really took away from the camping experience. That said, I did enjoy reading during the day, taking a nice hike, and meeting a few friendly campers. Giving it 2 stars for the daytime vibe, but overall, not a restful stay.", "languageCode"=>"en"}
