What Guests Are Saying
Rock Creek Campground offers a beautiful, peaceful retreat with well-spaced sites, particularly along the creek, providing a serene atmosphere and excellent access to hiking trails and the river. Visitors appreciate the cleanliness of the facilities and the secluded feel, with zero light pollution enhancing the outdoor experience. However, some noted a lack of onsite staff and occasional noise from ATV activity, and it's important to plan ahead for reservations due to ambiguous campsite maps and no cell service.

This little campsite is beautiful and relaxing. Right next to the river, and with generous spacing between sites, this is our new favorite place to car camp near Knoxville.

This was my first time solo camping, and it was a pretty relaxing experience here. There was hardly anyone else at the campground when I arrived on a Friday around 5pm, so I was able to take my pick from the campsites. It was nice having hiking trails so close by and being right next to the river. A friendly park ranger drove through to check in on things, which was appreciated since safety is a concern when camping alone. Overall, I felt safe and had an enjoyable stay.

We had a blast, it was so peaceful! We received help from a ranger when we missed our turn off for the campground! If you are staying make sure you bring a flashlight to the bathroom!

Used the nice bear box provided at the campsite for storing cooler and food. But my food went missing while out on a hike! I would recommend you bring a lock and use it for this area.

Rock Creek Campground is primitive camping on the Obed Scenic River and is a beautiful spot if you are tent camping, or have a van. You cannot reserve a specific site, so plan on getting there early to have a good pick of places to fit your needs/wants. The price is right, but plan on having people come park in the small circle of camping spots, as there are several trailheads right there. Lots of people come to just park and walk, so be ready for that. It's only a problem when they park in a designated camping spot, and use it as day parking. This really limits your choices. No cell service, if that is important to you, also, people pay for the best spots, and they are not occupying them, just leaving a tent for when they want to come down, thus making it unavailable for people that just need it for a night. Great spot on the river to swim,

The campground was situated in a gem of a spot at the end of the Obed Wild and Scenic River. It was a small campground with easy access to the river and hiking trails. The amenities were minimum, but at $10 a night it was a great deal. Before I go back I am going to do some research into floating the river.
