Pulled up in the dark and started setting up when the site attendants pulled up to inform us we were not allowed to have two travel trailers on the site (both were 15 ft long travel trailers, not RVs). They proceed to tell us we can only have one RV per site. Only one travel trailer per site. It would be great if Recreation.gov posted clearer instructions for these sites considering folks book these sites 9 months out and once you meet the boots on the ground they have no control over the misunderstanding. The site itself is not great and the way it is depicted in the pictures is not useful. The site does not allow you to back in - it is strictly a pull along site where you park your trailer directly next to the road. This did not work for my Aunt who has considerable mobility issues.

We spent 5 nights at the Rio Grande Village. The campground host from Rhode Island are the absolute BEST hosts that I have ever encountered!!! Wonderful people. So nice, yet they are also ready to enforce the rules if needed. The night skys were wonderful and we watch the stars every night! It was a Beautiful!

I think RGV is a wonderful campground. Large lots, very quiet, beautiful scenery in every direction. Very well maintained. Bathrooms were clean and all functional. I was impressed.

My wife and I had a great time visiting BBNP. It was winter at home but very warm at the park. (I'm not complaining). We stayed three nights at the Rio Grande campground which was quiet and clean and everyone that we met were very nice. We went to a ranger talk about the animal history of the park which we enjoyed. Remember to take a flashlight with you because it can get really dark at night. We have a small dog that restricted us from hiking on any trails which is a disappointment because BBNP has many trails to hike. I wish that all national parks would reconsider some trails that are dog friendly.
