It worth staying... our first visit.. I did not understand the the gov sites were ALL no service and the serviced ones were operated by a private company.. thats why I did not get any waitlist notifications for those as you have to call for the serviced ones. Also, the showers are part of the private company and they charge $2 in quarters... All in all a great park just very dissapointing that it is not better served by the park service. If we went again we would stay out of park and drive in

Everything we expected. Nightly visits from several grazing Javelina’s was a treat.

This is a nice, private site for a campervan. It is in the no generator zone, but very close to it, so you definitely hear nearby generators running. Restroom was clean. Very convenient to nearby trails. Lots of birds/birding in the area.

Very large campground on the banks of the Rio Grande. Fairly well maintained, with flush toilets, pay showers, camp store, laundry, and gas. A limited number of RV sites with full hook-ups. Beautiful scenery, and a "port of entry" to visit a small Mexico border town, which exists off of tourism. Very unique experience!

Pretty area for a campground (I prefer remote/back country type). Best there spaces, very nice! Extremely clean bathrooms. Park host, Paula, very nice & stopped to confirm who I was, etc.. areas to run generators & generator free zones. Dump & refill station and store close by. Fresh water spigots within campground.

This is a great campsite with attentive staff and nice restrooms. There were enough trees for shade and a nice little nature walk with a great view right next to the camp.

We only stayed one night tent camping but wish we had planned for more. The camp hosts were very helpful and loaned me a hammer to get my tent stakes in. Wonderful to hear all the birds and coyotes.bathroom facilities were nice and had an electrical outlet so I could make morning coffee.

The camp ground regulations seem to be rather capricious and arbitrary. There are campsites next to each other where one site is allowed generators while the other is not. There are other requirements that are just about as silly.

Stayed at Rio Grand Village for two nights. Had to stay in two different sites due to availability in getting consecutive nights in the same spot. For us it's no big deal with a truck camper moving is quick and easy. Both sites were clean and neat upon our arrival. Bathrooms were neat and clean as well. The camps host visited our site and informed us of a dark sky event at Panther Junction which we were unaware, so hats off to them! All in lovely as we were very impressed with Big Bend in general, the camp hosts and staff at Panther Junction. Plus the many hiking trails availalbe to us. Oh should mention, there is no cell or wifi service in the campground, thank you for eliminating that annoyance, enjoy the dark sky!
