Loved this campground. Beautiful scenery all around. Limited shade on some sights. Nice to possibly have running water facilities and a sink to clean dishes in. Rangers were going around pretty often to make sure all was good.

First of all, I want to thank all the staff at the Chisos campground who were all clearly doing their best under difficult circumstances with senseless budget cuts. Every staff person I talked to was friendly and helpful, but there was no excuse for the unsanitary conditions with the porta potties. I get having to ration water given drought conditions, but not having any toilet paper, hand sanitizer, or water in the pump handwash stations was gross. The porta potties were not emptied often enough for the number of people and I had GI distress the day I left the campground even though I did my best to wash hands at my campsite with my drinking water stash. I don't think we want to honor the history of Big Bend by bringing back dysentery so I hope the sanitary conditions get improved, and I will write my senators and shame them for the budget cuts that brought on all this in the first place. If you are reading this as a prospective peak season visitor, bring your own toilet paper and have hand sanitizer on a keychain with you at all times.

Great location and campground. Right next to the Window Trail trailhead, beautiful scenery, easy to park and navigate. Note, the restrooms are currently not available for use.

Stunning campground area located centrally in the park. Nice and cool during the day and close to lots of trailheads. Loved this park!

Bathrooms were open our first night, then closed due to drought, and spring break but they threw out some Port-a-potties that they kept up with. Such a beautiful spot and very quiet relaxing time

Camp sites are very close together. Nevertheless, the campground was quiet at night.

Very special place, beautiful hikes starting from the campground, the nearby lodge has some easy food options that can turn out to be pretty convenient! Only downside to the campground is that some campsites are on top of each other, lacking privacy, sense of isolation you could be craving for, or just nice, unobstructed views -like site #36 we had...

This was a great park to stay in overnight while at Big Bend National Park. Our campsite had beautiful views of the mountains, restrooms were cleaned and our camp host/volunteer was very friendly. A great experience!
