An incredible place! Be sure to slow down for all the creatures, I saw several gray foxes along the road at night!

Big Bend is an amazing park and staying in Chisos Basin is my favorite spot. The Lost Mine Trail, Window Trail, and Emory Peak are all great day hikes. If you are more adventurous, I highly recommend trying a one-night or longer backpacking trip in the Chisos Mountains. If I could change one thing about the park, I think Chisos Basin could benefit from some golf cart-style shuttles like at airports or Disney World from the lodge parking lot to the Lost Mine trail every 15 or 30 minutes, during the peak season of course and frequency should depend on what is economically feasible and actually used by guests.

So central to the rest of the park, and the spot had incredible views. The sites at the top of the loop are very tight and lack anything to break them up, which wasn't ideal. Lost mine trail was great to have access to (definitely recommend an early start- was filling up 8:30am in Feb).

Beautiful campsite. Spots are in many cases pretty close together, but we were able to get one a little separate from our neighbors. Make sure to read the descriptions; most sites are not level, so difficult if you're camping in a vehicle.
Clean bathrooms and helpful camp manager.

Not a great site unless you have very small tents, and even then, debateable. All the ground is fairly sloped and hard to find a good flat spot. Also, I know this is big bend and in the desert/mountains, but so many rocks it took quite a bit of time to clear out the grounds to get off the rocks.
The picnic table only has a bench on one side.
Water spigot is right at the base of the property, but the site is a not too long walk from the bathrooms. Close, but wouldnt really want to have to do that in the middle of the night.
