Our site was pretty level compared to many others. We were glad we had it.
The bathrooms were clean.
The camp host was very good & checked on us.
Unfortunately it was very cold when we were there.

We loved this site! You’re right at the base of the mountains and the sites are fairly spaced out. I will say some of the listings are incorrect if they have a driveway or not, but we got lucky and were able to book a different site than our original one. It’s Cole and windy in January but not too crowded. Highly recommend Emory Peak, just pay attention to the path you take up so you can go down the same way (at the rock scramble at the end). Chisos Basin is a very scenic place. The adjoining CCC-constructed trails are fantastic. We stayed at the campground for seven nights. The campground host, Mark, was great. Unfortunately, the restrooms were not cleaned regularly, and many of the sites were very steep. This is an old campground, and not suited for larger RVs.

Nice, clean campsite with great views of the Chisos Mountains and the starry night sky. It's about a half mile hike up to the lodge, which is where most of the trailheads are. But the amphitheatre is nearby the campground. I enjoyed the evening ranger program.

We camped in site 7 which had Casa Grande on one side and the Chisos mountains encircling you. The views were amazing. Site 7 is a pull through with lots of room. It’s not at all level, came up on 3 blocks on the passenger rear and 4 in the front. It’s a generator free campground so extremely peaceful. Bathrooms were clean and warm. Our 25ft LTV had no trouble navigating the roads or parking at the visitor center, backed in. Tried to view the sunset through the window view, but the sun was too far south, but I’m sure that’s spectacular. You can hike the Windows trail from the campground and save well over a mile. Would definitely stay again.
