Great place to relax, hike, and star gazing. One of our favorite place to camp in Texas.

Loved this site! One of the few with covered eating, close to bathrooms, perfect amount of space for smaller parties. Not much space to park near the site but made it work, only bad thing was the ground is very rocky making staking a tent difficult.

Wonderful campground. Quiet, beautiful views, great hikes. Can't be beat. Sites a bit unlevel, but at the time, it was probably built for tenters, not 24' motorhomes. :)

Big Bend is a great location, spent 14 days, visited all 3 main locations and hiked most of the trails. Stayed mostly at Chisos Basin campground, although did spend a few nights at Cottonwood campground. Only negative comment would be the Chisis Basin campground bathrooms could use more frequent and better cleaning.

Camping as a family of 5, kids age 8-13:
Kids participated in Jr. Ranger Program.
All volunteers/rangers at the stations were helpful.
Chisos Basin Tent Camping--camp hosts were excellent, kind, hospitable.
Window Trail, Tuff Canyon, Santa Elena Canyon--all enjoyable and easy for the range of ages we had.

The bathroom was very clean and nice. Tent sites are small.
