Loved our stay at Chisos Basin with the view of the mountains. Our campsite (site 9) was conveniently located near the bathrooms and a short walk to the Window trail trailhead. Some other sites (3,19 etc) had a better view of the mountains unobstructed by trees. The campgrounds were relatively quiet but you can definitely hear talking / sounds from other sites since sound carries well here.

Amazing campsite. Right next to the bathroom but private enough to feel slightly isolated. Ok coverage, there were gray foxes that surrounded the campsite when we were cooking but they werent harmful. Expect extreme winds, and use big rocks to set your tent up so it doesnt blow away while on your hike.

It's a great campground and an amazing site. I love Big Bend NP and Chisos Basin is the place to stay. Site 60 is great!

Very nice stay. Very clean. Chisos Basin site 9 was near the bathroom and other sites but not too noisy. Plenty of room for 3-4 large tents. Running water. A very nice personal pavilion with a bench long enough for 3-4 people and a grill. Very close walk to the window view trailhead. ~.5-1mile walk to the Chisos Basin trailhead.

There is absolutely nothing that compares to the stars in Big Bend. The sunrise inside of Chisos Basin is also spectacular!

I really only have one complaint, which was unfortunately a big enough problem that it kinda ruined the whole experience for us. This campsite was really close to the water alarm that went off anytime anyone in the entire campsite turned on the water. The alarm basically was going off sporadically the entire time and it was SO annoying. Glad we spent most of our time away from campsite and that I brought my noise canceling earbuds. We also stayed at campsite 3 our first night and had no problems with the alarm when on that site. I really hope they eliminate the water alarm because it really bothered us during our stay.

Money needs to be put into the campground. By alleviating the above ground powerlines, which is an eyesore for such a picturesque area. In addition, showers need to be installed with the bath houses and better cleaning facilities for those that are dry camping. Need to have the camp host better enforce the no high rev engine and generator use. It is very loud and annoying.

Great visit, as always. We’d never stayed in site 53 before, and really loved it!
