Great campsite to stay at! Bathrooms and water are close and the views are beautiful. Just be aware to look at the specific campsite description to know which way you’ll need to park your vehicle and how much space that site allows.

All the information I was sent helped set me up for a successful trip. We really enjoyed the whole park and the campgrounds where not loud and disruptive.

The campground is self is nice but spot 3 is unusable with even a very small trailer. There isn’t really much room for a tent either it should just be parking for spot 4. Terrible spot that we couldn’t even use. Had to drive all the way out of the park to find another spot. I guess it might be ok car camping but it is also not level at all.

Our site was pretty level compared to many others. We were glad we had it.
The bathrooms were clean.
The camp host was very good & checked on us.
Unfortunately it was very cold when we were there.

We loved this site! You’re right at the base of the mountains and the sites are fairly spaced out. I will say some of the listings are incorrect if they have a driveway or not, but we got lucky and were able to book a different site than our original one. It’s Cole and windy in January but not too crowded. Highly recommend Emory Peak, just pay attention to the path you take up so you can go down the same way (at the rock scramble at the end). Chisos Basin is a very scenic place. The adjoining CCC-constructed trails are fantastic. We stayed at the campground for seven nights. The campground host, Mark, was great. Unfortunately, the restrooms were not cleaned regularly, and many of the sites were very steep. This is an old campground, and not suited for larger RVs.
