Probably the best camping park around. However, my biggest disappointment is that there is no swimming access. The park is not on a nice part of the lake. It’s full of seaweed and the water is not very clear. The bathrooms were not horrible, but didn’t meet my expectations from other reviews that mentioned they were very clean. I will say that the sites were pretty clean and have a very nice picnic table and awning. The park gets VERY busy on the weekend. The staff were very friendly and easy to work with. Overall it was a good experience and I would go back if I had to stay on Canyon Lake but next time I think I’ll find another park since I don’t care much for Canyon Lake.

The facility itself is very nice, but many of the sites are not level. A must-see in the park is Poohenge. You'll find it right next to the bathroom/ shower house

First time there, will always come back. The corps of engineers’ volunteers were super friendly and helpful. I can see myself doing something similar when I decide to go full-time in the RV.
Thanks to everyone a Cranes Mill for a great experience, David and the girls

Very beautiful lots of nature and we loved the views. Changing reservations was impossible so we did not stay longer.

Golf carts are not allowed. There is very little water access and the lake has lots of growth throughout.

It is one of our favorite campsites so far. We had a hiccup with our reserved site and didn't have enough blocks to level her. I went to the office and shared our dilemma and they were able to accommodate our needs. The staff went above and beyond to help us out. Ms. Kathy was a gem. The bathrooms were clean as well as the campground. Campground was peaceful and beautiful. We are super excited that we were able to book upcoming dates.
Thank you for all y'all do🤗

The park was beautiful, well kept. We had a blast here! Most of the sites have plenty of shade but there are a few that have no trees, so be aware of this for the time of year that you book. In the middle of summer, just having a couple trees around would make all the difference in the world. The one complaint that I have, and I've read others with the same issue, is there is not a swimming area at this park and NONE of the sites offer good access to the water. If you plane on going swimming, take swimming shoes and be ready to take a hike through about 50 yards of knee-to-waste high grass and weeds. As we were getting to our site, I noticed a family trying to navigate through all of the grass and brush with a couple of little ones that were smaller than the stuff they were trying to get through so they could go swimming. For this reason, we will be trying other places to see if they offer better access to the water. Most people want to go swimming when they get to this lake, and it is just a little bit of a disappointment of not having a beach or swimming area, or even easy access to the water. Once you get to the water, the water is absolutely gorgeous.
