Most horrible experience I’ve ever encountered at a USACE park in my lifetime, n and I have camped at these 3-4 times a year in the past 30 years. My family had 3 sites for Easter weekend (Thurs - Sun) with a large number of young children for our annual Easter celebration and Easter egg hunt. The first night we were kept awake by loud music and a very loud vocal campers. Contacted the Park Ranger next morning and talked to folks at gate. The next night these folks quieted down at 10 pm, but another group took over with loud music etc. until 3:00am in the morning, at which time I contacted the sheriffs dept. They came out and quieted them down about 4:00 am. The next day another group started with the VERY loud music and loud party time voices/noise all day. The music was blaring rap and hip hop with lyrics that we’re not appropriate for young children. We could not even hear ourselves talk to each other it was so loud. I went to the gate and complain about the noise. The park host came by a little later and asked how were doing. We had a long discussion at which time he contacted the Person in charge of the USACOE parks in the area. He advised he would speak with the group and make sure the noise would be shut down at 10 pm, which certainly didn’t help what was going on then. After he spoke with them, the group responded by turning up the volume. At 9:30pm that night we had had enough and began packing up all 3 sites. We finished packing at about 10:30pm and by then they had actually stopped the loud music, but not the loud voices and other activity. We left the park at about 10:45pm and made it home about 4 am. As I said this was a first for me at these parks. The park rangers normally maintain complete control of activities in the park so that everyone have an enjoyable experience. If I wanted to go to a rap or hip hop concert I would pick a different venue. Not a USACOE Park.

We live less than two hours away but this was our first stay here. The park was clean and well maintained, with many spacious lakeside sites. The gate attendants were friendly and helpful. The crappie dock is perfect for both adults and kids to fish. I especially loved walking my dog from the RV camping area down the road through the tent camping area, so quiet and beautiful!

RV sites are nice, concrete slabs with grass and nice metal picnic tables. Specious. Beautiful night sky here if you are a star gazer. The lake is clear and healthy with lots of bird life. We spotted a pair of scissor-tailed flycatchers near our site. Showers are large with plenty of pressure and hot water. As in most CoE campgrounds, the grounds are well maintained and clean. Real nice place. We had 4 bars on Visible (Verizon) so hot-spots worked well.

Cranes Mill is a beautiful campground and well-maintained. The lake is beautiful and very close to the campground. Despite the very very windy conditions, we had a wonderful time.

This is a small, but beautiful park. The lots are large. Our lot was right on the lake and we only had to drag our kayaks a short distance to the water's edge. We stayed here for a week. The people were very friendly, both the staff and the campers. The only issue that we had was that people were not reprimanded for walking their dogs without a leash and not picking up after their dogs. I would stay here again.
