What Guests Are Saying
Potters Creek Park is a beautiful and well-maintained campground with large, spacious sites and clean facilities, including highly praised bathrooms and showers. Visitors appreciate the friendly staff and the park's scenic views, making it a great spot for camping and exploring the Hill Country. While some areas of the park lack shade and the lake levels are low, overall experiences have been positive, with many guests expressing a desire to return.

They closed an hour early, no day use, bathrooms were horribly disgusting, AND they would not refund our money for the last night even though we had to leave early because our son got sick. Potters Creek use to be an amazing place to visit growing up as a kid. Also the beach areas were nothing but sharp rocks and thick mud couldn’t even get to the water to swim. I really hope they fix this park and do better!

Very pleasant experience. Front gate attendants are friendly. I called before my trip and a gentleman named Michael was very helpful in answering my questions.

Surprisingly nice park... comparable to many State Parks. Many vacancies, clean sites with covered picnic tables, nearly flat and paved parking. Good water pressure, and consistent electric. Decent cell phone coverage. Got 40 channels on a boosted antenna for TV. Rest room was clean, although very dimly lit (took getting use to as there were no windows). Excellent shower water pressure and heat! Staff was friendly. Didn't find any evidence of issues from earlier negative reviews. Dump station was convenient upon exit from Loop 1. Agree that the grass needed cutting, but we had rain during several days of our stay. Overall, among our best experiences in several years... will be back!

Very nice campground. We enjoyed our stay. Lake is low but we knew that when we made our reservations. The only thing I would improve on is brighter lighting in the bathrooms to make them less creepy. Without sewer hookups it is necessary to use park restrooms the were like a dark creepy dungeon. That is the only complaint I have. We will definitely come back when the lake levels are back up.

Our campsite, on loop 2, as well as most sites in the campground have zero trees which made for some brutal temperatures in the Texas heat. It would also be nice if the grass at the campsites was cut and not full of stickers. Also, the water access is dismal. To be fair, the lake is down by a lot, however only one loop was anywhere near where you could get to the water, and the parking for folks not on that loop was a good long way from the water.
Bathrooms were reasonably clean, but there were some fellow campers that have questionable hygiene which made for some kinda gross bathrooms in the morning before the cleaning crew came around.
If I had brought a boat, I may be more happy with the campground as they do have a very convenient boat ramp there.
The place is not terrible by any means, I have just been to much better campgrounds. I really value tree cover and water access, so that is why the low rating.
