What Guests Are Saying
Potters Creek Park is a beautiful and well-maintained campground with large, spacious sites and clean facilities, including highly praised bathrooms and showers. Visitors appreciate the friendly staff and the park's scenic views, making it a great spot for camping and exploring the Hill Country. While some areas of the park lack shade and the lake levels are low, overall experiences have been positive, with many guests expressing a desire to return.

Very nice campground!! Sites were not crammed too close together; grounds were very clean & well maintained!! Easy access to bathrooms & garbage facilities. Looking forward to returning to Potter’s Creek again in the future!!

Potters Creeks is out favorite go to park to just get away. I hear the occasional boat or airplane but quite often when I'm setting outside the only sound is the wind and wildlife.

The staff was amazing and the place is always great, sitting on Canyon lake. We stayed here last year too and plan to revisit as many times as possible. It is close to San Antonio, with so many activities to do. We visited Sea World on this trip and it worked out great. Cell phone reception is very good as well.

The park it self is very nice. The sites are spread out and some are nestled in trees and other have a view of the lake. The bathrooms are clean.

Nice COE campground on north shore of Canyon Lake in Texas Hill Country. Loop L1 has about a dozen nicely shaded sites, remaining sites are full Sun. Loop L2 is all sunny sites but a handful are right on the lake. All sites in L1 and L2 are asphalt, mostly level and 40+ feet with paved side area for a vehicle. Each site includes a hooded picnic table, grill and fire ring. Good spacing between sites but plainly visible to each other due to absence of vegetation/shrubbery. Clean heated bathhouses. Small towns, shops and restaurants within 5-10 miles. Really pretty area. Note: I arrived at 1:30 on a Sunday and the gatehouse volunteer turned me around and said no entry before official 3pm check-in time. Not sure why, my site was not occupied. I did see other campers on another day check in around 1:30pm so it would seem to be an individual personnel issue.

It was very good experience and you couldn't ask for more friendly and helpful staff in the control building.

Once again, it was time to chaperone a Master Naturalist training class as they toured the Canyon Lake Gorge. I don't like getting up at the crack of dawn to drive all the way up there from San Antonio, so I always book a spot at either Crane's Mill or Potters Creek for a few nights. I prefer Potters Creek because the loop I use is spread out and generally more quiet and relaxed than the other loop. The park is very nicely maintained. The pads are level and angled nicely to make them really easy to back in. The staff at the entrance are always extremely nice and welcoming people. A COE park gives my every night at half price since I am an old guy with the National Parks Senior Lifetime pass. I paid $80 for it and got that back after two camping trips. Great value for great parks. There aren't any trails at Potters Creek, but I always grab my camera and walk all of the park roads. I have gotten some great shots of deer, foxes, jack rabbits, butterflies, dragon flies, native Texas plants, and, of course birds.
