What Guests Are Saying
Potters Creek Park is a beautiful and well-maintained campground with large, spacious sites and clean facilities, including highly praised bathrooms and showers. Visitors appreciate the friendly staff and the park's scenic views, making it a great spot for camping and exploring the Hill Country. While some areas of the park lack shade and the lake levels are low, overall experiences have been positive, with many guests expressing a desire to return.

Nice park with great view of canyon lake. Canyon lake has beautiful water. Easy access boat ramp. Park within 30 min of Wimberley, Gruene, and Schlitterbaun.

Great park. Wish hosts/cleaning crew would check restrooms often. Always out of toilet paper.
Need speed signs of 10mph. We were just getting there, and on the main road, I had my hand on the passenger door to get out to guide my husband in when a car passed us on the right (passenger side) to get by. Had I not looked before opening the door, it would have been ugly.
Hosts at checkin cabin are always very welcoming.

Weather was very nice, and the view of the water was amazing. Everyone we met was friendly and respectful. Very much liked the size of the park and the distance between sites. Electricity and water were reliable the entire visit. Thank you!

Nice park with friendly staff, though there are a few improvements that could be made. Nothing major and we were camping so we rolled with it and had a fabulous week.
Pros:
- Close access to lake with a nice breeze
- Nice shaded sites on L4 loop (not so much for the other loops with a few exceptions)
- Quiet park, particularly during the week
Cons:
- bathrooms need work. They are in the process of renevating, but didn't appear to clean them during the weekends, didnt have the fans connected to electricity, and ran the heater EVERY morning. No clue why yhe heater was even turned on during June.
- Electrical maintenance is slow to non-existent. We reserved spots 69 & 71 in Dec 2021 for June 2022 only to have site 71 cancelled in Mar 2022 due to what the park called an elecrical issue. We called and they promised to make it right but after waiting 2 weeks with no resolution we reserved the last spot still available. It was on the other side of the park. Not sure what repair couldnt be made in 3 months but just seemed like bery poor customer service to me.
- Park closes at 9pm during the week. All confirmations and rules we received stated that the gates closed at 10pm (April-Sept) which we planned around. However, when we arrived they were closing the gates at 9pm during the week. This would have been nice to know upfront.

This is a beautiful area and includes bathrooms and power outlets for the RVs and for 120V. Every site includes a parking space for 3 cars and the RV, a grill, a fire pit, and a picnic table with a roof.
Wally and Esther, gave us a warm welcome at the entrance of the park and even though the park was fully reserved for the 4th of July weekend, they went above and beyond to help us find and secure a site. We highly recommend Potter’s Creek Park. My whole family had a blast.

Park is nicely done but the best spots in Loop 1 were reserved for non-existent volunteers. In fairness to the park it was extremely hot and dry, there was little outdoor activity, and no fires were permitted so there was not a lot for the volunteers to maintain. Bathrooms were dirty and run down but they are in the process of refurbishing the bathrooms and showers. Overall the park appears to be getting some needed upgrades. Staffers at check in office were friendly but there is a strictly enforced rule that nobody checks on before 3:00. Seems a little silly when the spot is vacant.
