What Guests Are Saying
Potters Creek Park is a beautiful and well-maintained campground with large, spacious sites and clean facilities, including highly praised bathrooms and showers. Visitors appreciate the friendly staff and the park's scenic views, making it a great spot for camping and exploring the Hill Country. While some areas of the park lack shade and the lake levels are low, overall experiences have been positive, with many guests expressing a desire to return.

It was a nice place, and open enough for kids to run and play. We made sure we had balls, horseshoes, and games for the kids to play. It would be nice if they had small playsets for the kids. Also if they could make a little larger beach area.

Potters Creek is a beautifully maintained COE park on the shores of Canyon Lake. I was in site 40 in a loop that has finally reopened next to the boat ramp. The sites were large and spaced well enough to feel very private. The views of the lake, even though my site was not exactly on the shore, were very nice. There are no trails to hike in this park, but the park roads are still very nice for hiking around to view the wildlife, checkout other camping areas, see different lake views, and experience the native plants. The majority of the sites are not shaded, however, my camper maintained 74 degrees inside while standing in the direct sun on days reaching 96 degrees. There are restaurants and grocery stores very near. Also, there are other places to visit such as Overlook Park, the dam itself which you can walk across, and, if you can arrange it, Canyon Gorge. If you are into craft beer, there are two wonderful breweries over towards San Marcos which are about a thirty minute drive.

Nice quiet place to camp and the beautiful lake to admire. The neighbors came around to visit almost daily (the deer!) Thank you for having us stay!

I reserved campsite 99 through the week. I highly recommend that you consider camping during the week (Monday afternoon through Saturday morning). Potters Creek is a very quiet (during the week), extremely clean and well maintained COE park. Excellent boat ramp access and exceptional kayak fishing. Campsites are level and the pavilions are in great shape!
