map on the website showed the the site I reserved was on a lake -- but when I got there the lake had pretty much dried up. Woods were nice. However, was not happy with the $10 extra per night charge for electircity. Also, dump station was not marked, was told to just use one of the empty sites that had sewer.

We have been camping at Double Lake for 20 years now. It use to be great camping ground but the maintenance of the restrooms and the cleanliness is not acceptable and not sanitary. The ladies bathroom was disgusting and not usable this is including the showers. The ladies including little girls that were part of our group vowed to never go back to again. Note, they have been camping with at Double Lake for 5 years now. Each year the restroom conditions are becoming more unacceptable and it doesn't make sense because they are also charging more and more for campground. The non-sanitary conditions of the restrooms really need to be looked into and should be health/sanitary violation. I understand this is camping and we have to rough out somethings but having unsanitary bathroom is not acceptable.

Camped with a small trailer. Was able to go on some hiking trails before the rain started Saturday; these trails were in good shape. Park itself was very nice and had clean bathroom where we were. Was sad to see the lake so dry; would require alot of rains like we had that Sat night there and upstream to fill it back up. Would go back on a drier week/weekend to enjoy more trails.

In a word, "wonky". Don't think there was a level site in the park. Even the paved trails were wonky. It was memorable.

This park was wonderful! It was quiet and has lots of trees. The hosts in our loop were the best! My husband had an e-bike accident that landed us in the ER. The hosts checked on us and even gave us their personal cell #s in case we needed anything. The lake was low but it has a paved walking trail that is very nice. We will definitely be back. I think this was our favorite COE park thus far.

The double campsite was very nice. It was reasonably level. It gives a good degree of privacy. The camp host was very cordial and helpful. We could have a campfire. The showers need work, no hot water.

Great campsite. Verizon wireless works very well. Beautiful sunrise if you camp in the single digit lots. The grounds manager Shelton was super nice and welcoming. Nice hiking, bike trails and fishing. Coldspring is not but a few minutes away for any town needs.

I am a scoutmaster with a troop out of Houston. We really loved our stay at Double Lake. One group was able to take advantage of the bike trails and another group had a great time hiking the trails. I hope to return soon, with or without the scout troop. It's a beautiful park !
