Everything was pretty wonderful. The trails were nice, the restrooms were clean, our camp hosts were very friendly and informative. One of the womens showers had quit working and they were already in the works of having it fixed. The lake was such a beautiful site.

First-ever camping trip for my boys. Beautiful location. Fishing was easy for first-timers. In a pinch, firewood vendors and gas stations are close to the park entrance.
The park rangers I encountered were excellent and very helpful. We will be back next month

Great little park, quiet, clean, and spacious. Also right outside of cold springs with little restaurants, and coffee shops near by.

Hosts were great. Trails awesome.
Online pay time limits a hassle; in- person pay only in cash outdated nowadays, particularly when places unstaffed. Maybe give host’s mobile payment system or change online payments policies.
Also, which sites are pad-only or open use unclear and two-tent rule arbitrary. Seems to assume campers only use large family tents?
Still, great recreation area near Houston and well located for outdoor fun!

Campsites were clean and no issues with critters or bugs. The lake was close by and had walking trails around it. There was a site with a small dog that seemed to bark non-stop and quite a few other campsites were yelling at them to have the dog be quiet.

The camp ground was amazing and so were the people who ran everything. It was large with a volleyball net, a nice lake, and amazing trails. My group got to the campgrounds late Friday night and wasn't able to check in like we needed with the guardshack, but one of the women that work there came Saturday morning to take care of our vehicle passes (which I also forgot to go Saturday morning to let her know we were there due to getting busy) and she was absolutely AMAZING and so sweet. She wanted to make sure everything was in order based on her job, but she wasn't rude about it and very understanding. I had other experiences at other campgrounds so I was apprehensive when I kept having things come up and couldn't get to the campsite in time to be able to check in Friday. But the people were amazing and the sites were awesome. Very outdoorsy and secluded, especially if you get some of the group campsites. Very much worth the money.
