The park was very nice as were the employees. The COE parks are always clean and neat with rules in place for a quite restful trip. The down side of the trip was absolutely no fault of the COE. The wind was blowing for 4 days, the fishing was off and there was a burn ban on so no fire pits.

We had a nice campsite that had a view of the lake. The campsites were very well maintained. The bathrooms from site 33 over by sites 1-15 were clean and always had toilet paper and was not a far walk. It was nice to have a toilet shower combo and not a community bathroom. Would visit again in the future.

I love Copperas Creek camp ground. But I am unhappy that there was no gate attendant most of the time. The Rangers and park volunteers manned the gate sometimes.

Beautiful, quite campsite with great lake view. Very clean. Restrooms and showers are clean and well lit. Although it was early April and very windy, my 11 year old daughter and her labradoodle loved the swim area. Very little wildlife seen except for a few squirrels, one deer, a large toad, and tons of birds and vultures. Also, be prepared to remove a few goat-head stickers from socks and shoes, but not near as bad as we experienced at Lake Whitney! Couple of important notes: if you're tent camping like we did, bring extra electrical cord because it is a long way from electrical box and where you might set up your tent and you really need a short outdoor water hose. These sites are designed for RV's and trailers so the water spigot is in an all-weather, below ground box and it's nearly impossible to use without a hose! Also, a lantern holder would be nice. Otherwise, a great camp experience and a pretty, lakeside campground.

Excellent experience from the time we checked in at the guard gate throughout the week. Very helpful & pleasant guards. We enjoy fishing at the dam & off the fishing decks.
