Good location next to the water. Had fun floating on the water near the RV. Dublin was close enough for a short excursion and visiting the bottling plant.

Our outing was good. Facilities were much improved this year, as they actually started fixing some of the stuff that had been neglected the last few years. Hotter'n heck, as it was at the end of August, but there is shade and the lake to cool off in. Unfortunately, they close the whole place down at the end of September......when the weather turns nice for camping. :-(

We camped one in our motorhome one night at Copperas Creek and two nights at Promontory, both great experiences. We found shady spots in both campgrounds and were also close to the lake. At Promontory our campsite was surrounded by water on three sides and we had a great view of the sunset. The bathroom and shower facilities were clean, with hot water showers and doors you can lock for privacy. The park host was friendly and helpful. Proctor Lake is another Corps of Engineers gem in Texas, located in a beautiful setting, far from highway noise and housing developments. We will return again!
