Disadvantages were: had to stay 2 nights, bath house needed more cleaning, bath house should be marked as unisex (other COE campground bath houses have this) instead of men or women and the entrance was under construction but there was no warning on the website.
Advantages were: very convenient to Cross Timbers Trail, nice paved pad and table and convenient to the lake.

The lack of lighting on the extremely torn up entrance made it impossible to see the barriers at night. While trying to leave at night and go South turning as sharp as possible avoid oncoming traffic I tore the side of my truck on the non visible barriers resulting in $6300 in damages. The lack of concern for safety by putting up a minimum of some type of even temporary solar lighting is why we will not be back until the entrance is fixed.

Nice and quiet clean shower/restroom only problem was very tight entrance off 377 because of bridge construction

We stayed at campsite 21c. It is right on the water and the sites are decently spaced so you don't feel like you are right on top of each other. Most sites are VERY unlevel, so be prepared for that. The grass was kept mowed which was very nice for our dogs. The downside: no campsite hosts at all. Nobody verified that we had paid to camp and we didn't see anyone there for the 4 nights we stayed. Also, the bathrooms are just out houses which were gross and smelled. The bath house looked like a scene from Dateline. I called it the 'murder bath house'. No shower lock on door and no shower curtains. Also found disposed clothing in all bathrooms which made ya think...anyway. Overall it was good. We would stay again, but we have a bathroom and shower in our trailer. The dump station was very clean and well maintained.
