What Guests Are Saying
Platter Flats is praised for its cleanliness, convenient bathroom facilities, and beautiful views, particularly from the B loop overlooking Lake Texoma. Guests appreciate the quiet atmosphere, helpful staff, and well-maintained grounds, making it a favorite camping destination. Some minor issues include noise from other campers and the need for maintenance on picnic tables and ant control, but overall, visitors express a desire to return.

If it weren’t for the ants taking over, my rating would be a 5+.
Staff is wonderful! The campground is kept so clean! The main bath/shower house is really nice and clean.
The ants are everywhere. They will invade your camper, your car and even your boat unless you stake and tie up your boat out in the water. We spread a full bag of diatomaceous earth for insects all around the camper, the pad the camper and picnic table sits on and all around the trees where their main nests are. This helped a lot, but since the ants had already invaded the camper, we were constantly fighting them inside with ant traps. When we asked maintenance to spray they said that we are invading their space and they can’t kill them all.

The staff were very nice. We got a kick out of seeing the horses go by, we were on A side which is the equestrian side.

GATE ATTENDANT IS SUPER SWEET AND ALWAYS HELPFULL, BATHROOMS AND CAMPING SPOTS ARE ALWAYS CLEAN AND WELL KEPT. ONLY THING I SEE IS SOME OF THE TREES HANG TO LOW FOR SOME CAMPERS TO FIT AS WELL AS SOME OF THE SITES HAVE BAD DROPS WHEN COMING OUT THE DOOR OF SOME CAMPERS.

I reported to the gate attendant at dusk on the 4th of July that we had to reset our 30 amp breaker several times and that the breaker was warm to the touch. She said she would let maintenance know about it. The next morning two maintenance guys showed up at our campsite and replaced the breaker. We had no more issues the rest of the weekend. We appreciate the quick response and always enjoy camping at Platter Flats.

Truck was not level with trailer & could not get gooseneck to release GN ball. Concerned about pulling 41' trailer around hairpin turn at point for exit. Other than that, great location.
Need to have easier exit for larger trailers!

The campsite was clean and very shaded. The bathrooms were always clean when we took showers, and the campsite was very quite at night. My family had one of the best trips this summer at Platter.
